How Sweet It Is - Valentine's Day Gift of Gourmet Cookies

Probably one of my favorite holidays of the year because I'm a hopeless romantic is Valentine's Day.  I love the feeling that of love in the air and that as long as your with your honey everything will be alright....at least for one day! This year is one of my favorite Valentine's Cookies packages of all time.  It's just soooo cute! :) I found these adorable mini cookie boxes, the super plush bear and a fun balloon and thought this would be a super cute Valentine's Day gifts.  Choose from our most popular stuffed cookies & un-stuffed cookie flavors and surprise someone special with even more sweetness.

Over half way there....and other updates!

Other updates that are very exciting for me:

1.) I entered a contest in Daily Candy to celebrate their 10 year anniversary to find the next best big thing in fashion, food and fun! One winner from each category will win $10,000, a trip to NYC for a business intensive and a party thrown in The Cookie Chew's honor! OMG!! This quirky fun filled e-newsletter alone is what transformed Bacon Salt (a flavoring that turns anything to tasting like bacon...ingenious!) into a $1.8m company! Wish me luck!

2.) I also just agreed to sponsor an event for Project Ethos (www.projectethos.com) as a VIP Buyer Bag Sponsor for their red carpet event in San Diego at Fluxx nightclub at the end of this month. Project ETHOS is an incubator for emerging fashion, music and art and will feature 8 new emerging designer's Spring 2011 lines. They also have two Project Runway Alumni (Jesus Estrada and Gordana Gehlhausen) headlining the fashion runway segment of the event and a Special Headlining Music Performance by Sophia Fresh, singers of the hot new song "This Instant" feat. T-Pain which is featured in the new STEP UP 3D Movie. It looks so cool and I'm stoked for it to happen. If anyone is in SD next weekend, you should look into going!

"You put the lime in the coconut..then you feel better"

Or better yet you put the lime in the coconut and you make it into a Mojito Lime Coconut Cookie! I made this one in about 4 tries - not bad I think. The hardest part was trying to get enough tangy lime taste without leaving a bad aftertaste and making it too strong. I ended up using a little Rose' Lime Juice in addition to fresh lime juice and lime zest. I cut back a little on the amount of sugar I normally put in my cookie dough becuase of the sugar in the coconut. This cookie is fantastic! The coconut and the lime really complement eachother well, and the sugar in the coconut give this cookie just a slight carmelized texture but still of course how I like them soft and chewy :).
